any exclusive or non-exclusive or limited right to use any invention which may seem capable of being used for any of the purposes of this Company or the acquisition of which may seem calculated directly or indirectly to benefit this Company and to use, exercise, develop or grant licences in respect of, or otherwise turn to account, the property and rights so acquired.

(i) To enter into arrangements with any authorities, munici- pal, local or otherwise that may seem conducive to the Company's objects or any of them and to obtain from any such authority any rights, privileges and concessions which the Company may think it desirable to obtain and to carry out, exercise and comply with any such arrange- ments, rights, privileges and concessions.

(5) To acquire from the Government of Hongkong, or from any Company or partnership, person or persons, by purchase or otherwise, the lands, privileges, easements and powers requisite to the objects of the Company. (k) To obtain any Bill, Ordinance, or other power, and to enter into any contracts and agreements necessary to enable the Company to carry all or any of its objects into effect.

(1) To.develop and turn to account any land acquired by or in which the Company is interested and in particular by laying out and preparing the same for building purposes, constructing, altering, pulling down, decorating, main- taining, fitting up and improving buildings and con- veniences and by planting, paving, draining, farming, cultivating, letting on building lease or building agree- ment and to advance money to and entering into contracts and arrangements of all kinds with builders, tenants and others.

(m) To construct, improve, maintain, work, manage, carry out or control any roads, ways, tramways, railways, bran- ches or sidings, reservoirs, watercourses, wharves, manu- facturies, warehouses, electric works, shops, stores and other works and conveniences which may seem calculated directly or indirectly to advance the Company's interests and contribute to, subside or otherwise assist or take part in any such operations.
